Dog Owner's Guide to Using Township Parks


Leashed dogs are now permitted in Whitpain Township Parks. Review the information below prior to visiting a Township park with your dog. 

The rights and responsibilities of dogs and their owners when visiting parks, open spaces and trails in Whitpain Township, Montgomery County PA

Rights

  • Enjoy our parks and trail systems during posted open hours
  • Exercise your dogs on our trails, open spaces and designated use areas of our active and passive parks
  • Utilize the pet assistant stations available for disposing dog waste

Responsibilities

  • Dogs leashed at all times with no more than a 10 foot leash
  • Dogs under owners control at all times
  • Secure your dog by your side when others approach
  • Respect patrons without dogs as they may be unsure of your dog’s behavior
  • Clean up and properly discard of your dog’s waste. Pet assistant stations and trash cans are located in many of our parks for your convenience
  • Keep your dog 50 feet away from playgrounds and 20 feet from sports courts and ball fields at all times
  • Vaccinations and licenses must be current with State and County regulations
